Dirk Manley - Grand Champion!Monday, June 2, 2008

Well, the month is over, and although the turnout started out good, the fails didn’t seem to stop. It began with a dream, a dream that one day we could all look back on these pictures, not unlike a moustachioed picture of your father, and be proud, proclaiming, “That is when I had a moustache.” But it seems that integrity and dignity are no longer valued in this day and age. I myself was technically disqualified by myself. It seems that one man, with brawn and might, battled through from 1st to 31st unashamed and usurped his place as grand champion and honorary “Brash Moustache”. My regards to Dirk Manley in his unequivocal position as #1. Runners up included Berman McBurly, Methusela Jones, and I - Rick Royce. Unfortunately I have no thanks for those that did not make it. You have besmirched yourself and your family. Tally HO!

Top 10 Moustached MusiciansMonday, May 12, 2008

Music, it is something we all have in common. Moustaches, its something we don’t all have in common. When you put the two together, an image is burned into the mind, the power of the musician and the power of the moustache together is maximum power. I’m sure we could all think of 10 or more musicians with moustaches, but we here at Brash Stache are only able to honor the best of the best. Hit the JUMP! (Van Halen)

Emiliano Zapata

First and foremost Emiliano Zapata. This guy was a force to be reckoned with. No need to go into the history here, but this guy was hardcore. Bandit or revolutionary? His name lives on!

Danny Trejo

Danny Trejo is a man and a moustache of true honor. This man overcame a troubled street life of drugs and prison sentences, to portraying a troubled street life of drugs and prison sentences as a Hollywood actor. I best remember his role as Johhny 23 in Con Air, man was he brutal. A great humanitarian off screen, but man is this guy scary on film! Keep representing the stache, hermano!

Cheech MarinRichard Anthony Marin also known as “Cheech Marin” is one of the best examples of a Mexican American rocking the stache like its going outta style. The brashness of his stache knows no bounds. Best known for his role in the Cheech and Chong movies which included many comedic albums and soundtracks, he has continued to make a career for himself starring in feature films, television (Lost, apparently a good show?), and video games (GTA: San Andreas!). This guy also won celebrity Jeopardy! We salute you Cheech, and your moustache. Que Bueno!

Zorro

ZORRO! ZORRO!

ohh, and Frida Kahlo gets and honorable mention. That lady had a stache for sure, not a very solid one, but she represented regardless!

Moustache MayTuesday, April 29, 2008

May is just around the corner and I have decided to grow a moustache all month in hopes of solidifying its position among the greats. I have asked that my friends, family, and anybody with the determination and manliness to join in the event do so. Old and young, hairy and not so hairy, I want this month to live in infamy.

Although it would have been great, as mentioned by others and realized by myself as well, to have this event as a March Madness moustache month, that did not happen…..this site has been years in the making, and it had to be perfect. Nonetheless, the May Moustache will be in effect starting Wednesday night at 12pm. All contestants will be asked to not shave (you may trim) any hair above the upper lip. Hair on the rest of the face is allowed as long as the moustache is not connected to a goatee or chinbeard hence making it a beard or goatee (what?)! There should be at least a before and after pic, and any other updates/pictures you want to post along this epic journey are acceptable. Anyone caught cheating will be disqualified.

You do not have to shave before May to start. You may use any existing growth. Moustaches will be judged on style, color, thickness, and originality. Judging criteria will also be added for contribution to the blog. Posts on the blog may only be about moustaches…..your progress, staches in the media, grooming techniques, styles, famous staches, products, news and events, etc., etc.

1st Price Winner receives : honorary “Brash Moustache” of the month! and a Darryl Hall & John Oates vinyl record.

anything less than 1st, all losers! Good luck, and Godspeed.

Burt Reynolds? Burt Reynolds!

I got the blog up and thought there wasn’t a much better way to start out. Striptease, Boogie Nights…this moustache screams class. His stache has an agent, and insurance.
